Google Video and Flash Video

I re-stumbled upon Google Video again today. I remember when it was first announced and looking at it when no content had been submitted. There’s quite a bit of stuff on there now; it is forming a very interesting way to access and view video content on the Internet.

Our mission is to organize the world’s information, and that includes video. Google Video offers viewers a way to see material from archived TV programs, educational videos, personal productions and more.

You search for videos then view them in your browser through a Macromedia Flash video player. Although I’ve been a bit suspicious of using Flash for video, it actually works really well and is very seamless. I’m wondering if Flash could somehow be leveraged to make a nicer interface for viewing videos in videoblogs. What’s cool about Flash is that you can make a custom interface for viewing/controlling the video; ie. not just the standard Quicktime controls.
