Daniel’s oil paintings offer a glimpse into a mystical and sometimes turbulent world. While his paintings draw inspiration from the landscape, they also blend together elements of impressionism, abstraction and the surreal. His painting process is both fluid and dynamic, the paint being built built up slowly in numerous subtle glazes.
Daniel has been painting since childhood and also works in photography and film. He has had his work exhibited throughout Australia as well as internationally. His work is represented in corporate and private collections around Australia and overseas.
He works from his studio in Melbourne, Australia and has completed Honours in Fine Art from RMIT University, Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Arts from the Australian National University, Canberra.
Daniel has spent the last few years (2008-2010) travelling throughout India, Europe and the United States. He has trekked through the Himalayas, the mountains of South India and the islands of Thailand sourcing inspiration and reference photography. He lived and painted from his studio in the Catskill Mountains outside New York City for a year and a half and has recently returned to Melbourne, Australia.
